|
|
G'day!
I've never used a cover letter up to now, I can see employers make a deal out of it. So what should a cover letter contain? How should it be written? typed? By hand? When do I hand it to the employer?
Thanks, have a nice day! |

It should contain the following:
- introduction (Dear Hiring Manager usually)
- content (four or five paragraphs in which you express: your intention, the skills you have, how you are becoming useful to the conpany and a request for an interview)
- ending formula (Sincerely, John Doe usually)
You should type it and you should keep the same fonts as in your resume preferably.
You hand it to the HM when you apply for the job, together with your resume.

Mallory, mostly right but you forgot the details. Here's how a cover letter should be written:

You type it, that's right. Only if the employer says specifically he wants a hand written cover letter should you write it by hand. And in this case, a lot of attention! |
