Hello everybody,
I AM FREAKING OUT right now because in about three weeks I'm going to have a lunch interview with a recruiter from an international organization. I'm freezing at the thought I might do something wrong, something which would have nothing to do with the skills and abilities related to the job itself but with the way I act/react. Please share some lunch interview experience and how to's. Like who's paying? What should I order, how much should I order, how should I dress (suit is my guess), when to speak, when not to speak, should I close my cellphone, .....I'm dead!!! |

Dude....anything but DON'T FREAK OUT because yu might produce a reaction you'll not get rid of for your entire life!!! How about some previous rehearsals? How about reading some good info and tips on a lunch interview?
Just bare in mind that it is also about MANNERS when you go to the interview. So: perfect control of: verbal language, non-verbal and para-verbal language, manners.
Is it going to be a one-yo-one interview or a group one? |

| Oh my God you must calm down!!! Relax, take a few deep breaths and think rationally. You got this interview so you must be good, right? be confident and, again, take a few deep breaths after that you will know when to speak and how to react (don't overreact!).GOOD LUCK |

Hewett,
You are going to be fine. There are people like you (more than you think) that react the way you do - they get nervous when in front of important people. But just think that he/she is a person too, and is there doing their job - just like you should to. I do not even think you need to review any material regarding this problem - just be yourself (with the required manners and politeness) and relax. I always think that people who are not confident and relaxed in such environment tend to say things that a recuiter might not want to hear, without even noticing. In the end, if the job is destined to be yours it will be - sometimes people that are confident they will be hired, don't, just because the company might be looking for a person different than them. Long story short, just be prepared to talk about your assets and gains a company will have by hiring you - know your resume.
Best of luck! |
