Hi,
I'm in my job application phase of my job search and I'm sending cover letters and resumes to companies I think suit my profile.
I was happy with my former job, however I had to move back to my home town due to my mothers declining health. Should I mention this on my cover letter or would this not be a conderseration for my reason to change employers? Because employers tend to ask me what the reason for leaving my former job was. And I know they don't like whinning and things like that...
Thanks,
Nicole |

Hello,
I really think you should find a more tactful way to mention it, however do not belabor the point. And I'll tell you why...I had not mentioned these things on my cover letters, until a recruiter pointed out that it will answer unasked questions. Why complicate your existance? Once there is a reasonable explanation no one will pry, however the question would be there, whether verbalized or not. You see?
