How To Stand Out Of The Crowd At An Interview
The more you practice the interview at home, with your friends, the more you participate to informational interviews, the more your chances of making a good impression on the employer increase. One of the most important things with regards to the interview itself id your ability to communicate with the interviewer, your ability of expressing yourself in a concise, clear way. You don't want the interviewer to ask you what time is it in order to make you understand the interview is taking too long, right? He just wants to have his questions answered and to feel as comfortable as possible in your presence. It is ofter said that recruiters tend to hire job seekers who are in some way similar to them.Assuming the interviewer doesn't like you from a personal point of view... it is still important to make him feel comfortable around you and it is still important to present your ideas in a way which is accessible to him. And this ability comes with practice. Your main aim is to make a good first impression on the recruiter. You have to know yourself very well, in order to formulate a quick and clear answer to any of his questions. Like when he asks you to speak about one of your greatest achievements or projects you have done in the past - don't think too much before you open your mouth, you are supposed to know yourself like an open book, correct? Besides, your ability of selecting your best achievements and expose them in an intelligent way would only bring you in advantage in the recruiter's eye.
If you decide to build a cover letter, this should have not more than one page and it should enhance your skills and abilities in order to make a good impression on the reader/employer. The CV must be attached to the cover letter, so pay attention that you do not repeat yourself in them. Also, mention things you think the company is interested in. It can be some lines from their newspaper add or from your personal research in what their business is concerned. These are the things which make you stand out from the crowd of other job seekers! Your CV should reflect your experience in the domain.
Show yourself interested and enthusiastic! Ask for the job! If you just stay in front of them and let the time pass, the recruiter will think you're not really interested in the job. SO smile, because it is the most important thing. A smile makes everybody feel good and, why not, answer back with a smile too. The interviewer will feel more comfortable and if he feels good, you feel good and grow in confidence.
