Do You Want A Job?

Experts say: Never send a CV without a cover letter!

67% of employers would rather have a well written , appropriate cover letter, accompanied by a CV whenever they advertise a vacant position in their company. Here are some pieces of advice regarding an efficient cover letter:

  1. If possible, address your cover letter to a specific person. Have a little bit of research done and should you find out who is in charge of reading your CV and cover letter, then address it to that person. This will not only demonstrate you are really interested in the position, but it also certifies that your cover letter is not a generic one, but a targeted one, specially built for the respective recruiter.

  1. Tailor your cover letter to the specific of the job you apply for, allways motivating that YOU are the right choice for the respective job. Managers dealing with the recruiting process are in search of targeted cover letters, not of mass produced ones.
  2. Have a little research done about the company you are about to apply in. Bring into discussion the reason for which you have chosen the respective company and the reasons for which you would make the ideal candidate for the job you're applying for. This shows the potential employer how much you have done in order to know his business better and it is a good means of eliminating your competition as well.
  3. Do not repeat yourself. Don't talk about the same things you have included in your CV. Your cover letter is a unique chance of showing the employer your excellent skills, abilities and competencies and, in the same time, of showing him the real you.

  1. Check your cover letter twice or even three times before sending it, in order to eliminate possible spelling or grammatical mistakes. 48% of employers state that they don't even take into consideration cover letters which include such mistakes.
