Prepare Yourself To Fill In A Job Application Form

by Stephanie Blye

Have you ever imagined what could happen to you if you don't prepare yourself for filling in a job application? Supposing you do fine during the interview, it was a piece of cake! But the last interviewer asks you to fill in a job application right on the spot. This request seems to be a proof of interest from the part of your employer, you appear to have the job in your pocket and you hurry up to fill the application.

But the moment you start completing, you realize that the CV you brought with you doesn't include the address of your former employer or his phone number, or other information which doesn't normally appear in your CV. You weren't supposed to remember the name of the street you used to live on 6 years ago, so there's a blank space in your application! Of course, you do remember the names of the persons who have provided you with a good recommendation, but do you remember their phone numbers? There's another blank space! You become nervous and begin to forget the things you were so proud of ten minutes ago. So you ask timidly, like a 10 years old child, if it is possible to take the application at home in order to fill it in.

Employers do not like to waste time because time costs money so if they are interested in hiring you, they want the process to finalize as soon as possible, including the verification of data period or the paper filling one.

Your CV is just the phone book.

The CV is very useful because it gives the employer an insight about what kind a candidate you could be. But the job application is the one that offers him the relevant information about you. The information regarding the very specific of the position you are about to fill. Employers usually prefer candidates to fill in the job applications from the first time they come to the interview because they need to start verification immediately. The worst thing that could happen is to hand in the jb application in an incomplete form or to solicit some couple of days in order to complete it.
